JClic development project

JClic is free software, distributed under the terms of the GNU Public License (GPL).

The JClic development project is currently hosted at LaFarga.org, a portal from the Department of Universities, Research and Information Society (DURSI) of the Government of Catalonia. The project is open to all who want to take part in it. Volunteers will be needed for translating JClic to other languages, elaboration of documents, manuals and user guides, creation of visual environments (skins), design of graphic elements (buttons, icons...), development of new modules of JClic (new types of activities, content generators, report systems...), tracking of errors and source code maintenance and local diffusion and support groups. You are welcome to the project!

The main sections of the development platform are:

  • Forums
Space open to questions, requests, suggestions, opinions and debates.
  • Tracker
In this section we have the lists of known errors (bugs) and feature requests. Please check that nobody has reported the error you have found before you report it yourself. Reports can always be complemented with your comments and suggestions.
  • Lists
The development project has currently three open mailing lists: commits (to receive announcements about modifications in the source code), development (discussion list for developers) and translation (for anybody who wants to collaborate transtating JClic to other languages).
  • Tasks
List of specific tasks assigned to the members of the development community.
  • Documents
Space where to publish guides, manuals, references, etc.
  • News
Here is where we will inform about the main news of the project.
  • Source Code Management (SCM)
Here is where the source code of JClic is stored, in a Concurrent Versioning System (CVS). You can navigate on the directory tree and see the files one by one, or download all the source code by means of a CVS client or in a single snapshot file in ZIP format.
  • Files
In this section the distributions of JClic are placed as they are released.

We advise you to make the interventions in English whenever possible, because the development community has members from different countries. Despite of this, interventions in other languages are also welcome.
